The nearest Himalayan region from Kathmandu valley is the Langtang ValleyTrek. Few hours driving from Kathmandu will take you to the beautiful Langtang region. Despite being very close to Kathmandu, the Langtang region is as wild as any Tibetan highlands with heavenly rural landscape. The people living in the highlands of the Langtang region are certainly Nepalese but resemble the descendants of Tibetan ancestors. Hence, Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle. Moreover, along with the variety of rhododendron, bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls and snow-capped Himalayas make the Trek one of the most diverse nearby Kathmandu.

Day 01 :  Arrival in Kathmandu - 1,300m/4,264 ft

Day 02 :  Kathmandu Sightseeing & Preparation for the Trek

Day 03 : Drive to Syaphrubesi (1,550 mt./5,100ft):7hrs

Day 04 :  Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 6 hrs 

Day 05 :  Trek to Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6/7 hr  

Day 06 :  Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 3-1/2 hr 

Day 07 :  Visit to Tserko Ri and trek back to Lama Hotel: 5/6 hrs   

Day 08 :  Trek back to Syaphrubeshi: 5 hrs  

Day 09 :  Transfer to KTM

DAY 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu - 1,300m/4,264 ft
Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a guide from ATN Adventure. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our Guide with a ATN Adventure display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After check in, you will visit  ATN Adventure office, meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. Later in the evening we will organize a "Welcome Dinner" at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will enjoy a Nepalese cultural program along with a fine meal. DAY 02:  Kathmandu Sightseeing & Preparation for the Trek
Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. The day will also be for finalizing official procedure and other necessary arrangements. You will be also briefed on the nature of the trek, equipments and team composition. Some of landmarks we visit include the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhu Nath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddha Nath).  In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members. You can also make your last minute buying of personal items as you will be flying to the Himalayas tomorrow.(B)reakfast

DAY 03:  Drive to Syaphrubeshi (1,550m/5,100ft): 145 km/ 7 hrs
After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to  Dhunche. From Dhunche, we descent down to Syaphrubeshi. (B,L,D)
 
DAY 04:  Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 6 hrs
This is our first day of trekking today.  Follow the Langtang Khola River. Pass through the dense forests.   Cross several suspension bridges. We also pass by a tea houses.  The trail goes up and down but it's not that challenging. (B,L,D)
 
DAY 05:  Trek to Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6/7 hr 

After taking morning tea, we embark our second day of the journey. Our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung.  Pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. (B,L,D)
 
DAY 06:  Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 3-1/2 hr
After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures.  Also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind.  Cross several of the wooden bridges.  Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes, you might start feeling the thin air. Gompa. Kanjin Gompa is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks. (B,L,D)
 
DAY 07:  Visit to Tserko Ri and trek back to Lama Hotel: 5/6 hrs
 
Early morning we visit to Tserko Ri  (5000m/16,404ft) for mountain sunrise views. After breakfast, proceed to Lama Hotel. Since, its mostly downhill, it is 4/ 5 hours walk from Kanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way down hill through forest following the river. Pass through the ethnic Tamang settlements who follow religious and cultural  practices similar to the Tibetans. (B,L,D)
 
DAY 08:  Trek back to Syaphrubeshi: 5 hrs 
After breakfast, we trek down to Syabrubensi, about 5 hours walk. Enjoy the easy trail mostly downhill through lush green vegetation. Arriving Syaphrubeshi, we take our lunch. (B,L,D)
 
DAY 09:  Transfer to KTM
After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. Spend the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. In the evening, celebration dinner together. (B, D)
 
DAY 10:  Farewell Friend
We are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a Guide from ATN Adventure will take you to the airport. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.(B)
