As the name suggests this is one of the most exclusive Bhutan tour programs introducing the visitors to all the major attractions of the country. Indeed, The Last Shangri-La Tour takes you across the country along the lateral highway. During the course of this tour visitors will have the opportunity to experience many sites of natural, cultural and historical significance which provide a perfect introduction to this exotic Himalayan Kingdom.


Day 01 : Arrive in airport
After being welcomed in the Paro International Airport, you are taken to Thimphu and transferred to your hotel for refreshing and resting.
Night in Thimphu.

Day 02 : visit the highlights of Thimphu
During all the d ay, you visit the highlights of Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
Your guide will bring you to the Traditional Painting School, the National Library and the Memorial Chorten.
Today you also discover the Takin, the Bhutan national animal: a body of cow with a head of goat. At the end of the day, you enter into Tashichho Dzong.

Day 03 : Wangdue Phodrang-Dzong of Punakha
After three hours driving, you arrive in Wangdue Phodrang and its Dzong located at the top of a hill.
After Wangdue you are taken to the Dzong of Punakha, on the banks of a river. This fortress is said to be one of the most beautiful in Bhutan.

Day 04 : Bhumthang
A long day driving brings you to Bhumthang. The beautiful valley of Bhumthang is considered as the Switzerland of Bhutan.

Day 05 : visit Bhumthang
During all day you visit Bhumthang: Jakar Dzong which is the biggest Dzong in Bhutan, Jambay Lakhang, Tamshing Monastery and the Swiss Farm.

Day 06 : Proceed to Ura
After breakfast, you proceed to Ura, a valley to the south-east of Bhumthang.
It is believed to have been the home of the earliest inhabitants of Bhutan.
Ura is a very beautiful valley with Buddhist monasteries and traditional houses.
After the lunch, drive back to Bhumthang.

Day 07 : Bhumthang to Tashigang
You travel all day from Bhumthang to Tashigang during a 10 hours journey.
Night in Tashigang.

Day 08 : ashigang Dzong-Samdrup Jongkhar
After sightseeing in Tashigang Dzong and bazaar, you proceed to Samdrup Jongkhar.
The road between Tashigang and Samdrup Jongkhar completed in the 1960s, enables the eastern half of the country to access and benefit from trade with the south as well as across the Indian border.

Day 09 : Different places on the way
On the way to Mongar, you stop at Khaling to see the traditional weaving center and at Kanglung College which is the only college in Bhutan.

Day 10 : Mongar Dzong and the bazaar
In the morning, visit of the Mongar Dzong and the bazaar.
Later on, you drive up to Bhumthang, the stop of today.

Day 11 : western valleys of Bhutan

Today we come back to the western valleys of Bhutan. On the way we stop at Trongsa to visit the Dzong of the city. Five hours later we are in Wangdue Phodrang.

Day 12 : Back to Paro
Five hours driving bring you back to Paro.
This city is the home of the only airport of the country. The rest of the day is spent to visit the Paro Dzong and the National Museum.

Day 13 : Taktsang
Today is an excursion day to Taktsang also called Tiger's Nest.
This hike leads to a monastery hanged to the rock of a hill at 3120 meters high. It is one of the main highlights of Bhutan.

Day 14 : Final departure

You are transferred to the airport for your final departure.
