A Sample of a Trekking Day

Your day may start with a cup of hot tea served in your room between 5 to 7 am. A member of the trekking staff will follow with a bowl of hot washing water after which you will be required to pack your luggage so that porters will take care of it whilst you are having breakfast.

After breakfast we set off on the trail, enjoying the pleasant cool of the morning. Your trekking day involves navigating numerous picturesque forests, hills, mountains through local villages for the next three hours. Around mid-day we usually stop at a pleasant spot along the way for lunch. Your midday lunch break usually lasts around an hour and gives you the time to relax, and your feet to get some air out of the boots! Plenty of time is allowed for shooting photographs or videos along the route. After lunch you'll walk another three hours or so till the place fixed for the night. You normally have enough time to change clothes, freshen up, explore the surroundings, relax the last rays of sun before night....sometimes you will have enough time to make some laundry...socks with take few moments to get dry near the stove...during your meal...

Each trekking comprises several or many days. Some days you will be required to walk more...maybe getting to the daily target just when light is already gone...or much more easy ones, getting to the target so soon that you will have few hours enjoying around under the sun admiring a fantastic landscape. Of course, all nights before sleeping, you will be speaking with your guide who will be ready to describe the following day, so that you may be able to discuss with him about speed, stops...and anything you may think about.

Each evening is spent as you prefer most, reading a book or chatting with fellow trekkers and crew members...sometimes a pack of cards can be an advantage; the crew loves teaching various nepalese card games and learning new western games. Our porters may like having singing and dancing competitions in which they love you to join in! Finally, it's off to bed for a well deserved night's rest before you start it all again the following morning.

Long stops (for meals or when possible) are usually fixed according to the experience of your guide who will understand, observing you along the trek, what may be better for you. Nonetheless, there is always a certain degree of freedom for you to give suggestions...for example about speed or when to depart in the morning...if you like starting earlier in the morning you can easily suggest it...if the guide will think it is easy to do it according to the following day route...probably you will have more time to enjoy at your arrival on the next day...
